Dec 6th, 2011: It was a balmy 29 degrees with the small lake near Wellston, MI partially frozen on top. The winds were calm, as was the water. The 7mil wetsuit boots worked like a dream!

San Diego Surf Week

Just back from working on our surfing skills in California... Every day was the best day ever and we even got to paddle with dolphins!

Harvest Paddle

We paddled 18 miles down the St Joseph river for the Harvest Paddle Fest last Saturday!  Temps were summer-like and the colors were spectacular...

On Friday, 23 Sep, we revisited Holland State Park to find that only the birds hang out there after Labor Day. The water was slightly warmer than the air and we attempted to surf baby 2 ft waves... only to get our fins caught in the sand right at the swell!

Our first canine lesson!!

"Corky" and Beth were both naturals on the board... as evidenced by their big grins!

Huron River Sunset

Launching from Argo Park in Ann Arbor, we had some fun testing out our super cool yoga poses while the U of M Regatta crews trained nearby...

Kent Lake at Kensington Metropark

Took a sunset paddle around the lake that is ideal for fishing. Calm waters with tons of plant life make this a haven for fish -but watch out for weeds getting caught in your fins!  There are also some cool tiny islands for a taking a little break...

Holland State Park

Had a magical day at Holland State Park. The water was warm, shallow and sandy... This is a great place for learning (aka: falling) and trying out some some waves!

Urban Wave is launched!

With new gear and a getaway vehicle, we broke-in our boards on Lake Macatawa in Holland.  The high winds and very choppy waves gave us quite a workout!  A cool attraction on the lake was the Heinz pickle factory...
